The Jackson Heights girl’s basketball team just completed one of their best seasons in recent memory.
Junior Kanyon Olberding was not only great in their State Tournament game, but she was also one of the Cobra’s best players all season.
The Cobra’s finished the season 22-2 with a first-round exit in the Class 2A State Tournament in Manhattan as they lost to Smith Center 44-37.
Kanyon scored 18 of the 37 points and was seven of 15 from the floor including three of five from the free throw line and knocking down a three pointer.
She finishes her junior season averaging 18 points per game, four steals, and nearly four assists per game and she was just named NEKL 1st Team All-League as the Cobras won the league title this season.
