Linn senior Marcela Huerta has been an integral part of the Bulldogs basketball program over the last four years.
This season she earned first team all-league honors and helped Linn reach the 1A-II State Championship game finishing runner-up in the classification.
In the opening round win vs. South Haven, Marcela finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. In the semifinal win vs. Attica, she finished with nine points and nine rebounds.
She finished her senior season averaging over 11 points and seven rebounds per game and will go down as one of the best basketball players in school history.
Marcela finishes her career at Linn ranked sixth in career points (865), third in career rebounds (546), second in 2-pt field goals made (367), second in 2-pt field goal percentage (54.05%), third in free throws made (131), and seventh in blocks (63).
Not only is she a good basketball player, but she is an outstanding person who helps in the kindergarten classroom during the last hour of the school day.
Linn head coach Trever Kuhlman: “She will be greatly missed in our program.”
