Duncan Does it All as Riverside Wins McLouth Tournament
Niahla Duncan

Riverside’s Niahla Duncan helped the Cyclones capture the McLouth Invitational Tournament title this past week and did a little bit of everything along the away, earning all-tournament team honors.

In the quarters against Maranatha, Niahla had five points, four rebounds, and three assists. In the semifinals against KCC, she had nine points, seven rebounds, and two assists. In the championship against Maur Hill-Mount Academy, Niahla had seven points, four rebounds, and four assists.

This season, Niahla is averaging nine points, four assists, three rebounds, and nearly three steals per game as the Cyclones are 10-4 and in the mix for a NEKL crown this season.

Head coach Craig Burnes: “She not only plays the most minutes, controls the tempo of the game, sets the offense up to help us be as successful as possible. Everything she does for our team doesn’t show up on the stat sheet from her leadership to making sure everybody is in the right defense. She is like a coach on the floor.”
