On paper, it appeared that the matchup between the girls’ teams of Jefferson County North and Pleasant Ridge would be one to remember.

The Lady Chargers started strong with senior guard Carly Elias scoring nine points in the first quarter giving JCN an 18-13 lead after one.

Pleasant Ridge battled back in the second to pull within three, but the Lady Chargers still took a 29-26 lead into the halftime break.

Heading into the third quarter, Wagner had just four points in the contest. She finished with 10 in the quarter, as the Lady Rams took the lead heading into the fourth, 45-44.

Neither team was able to get their respective offenses going in the final quarter, but the Lady Chargers were able tie the game at the end of regulation at 57 to force overtime.

In overtime, JCN sophomore Annabelle Vaught fouled out with 14 points, and the Lady Rams took advantage to win the extra period 9-4.
