Reagan Gerety helped Nemaha Central to an 8-1 win at Holton with a complete game one-hitter with 15 strikeouts. She also added a home run as a part of her multi-hit day.
Gerety hit the homer in the bottom of the first inning with a runner aboard to give the Thunder a 2-0 lead. On the mound, she started the game by striking out eight batters in the first three innings.
Nemaha Central added to their lead with two more runs in the third inning with Mya Ganstrom scoring on a passed ball and Emma Hermesch hitting an RBI single that brought home Ava McKinley.
Holton would get their lone run of the ballgame in the fourth with Josie Barrow scoring on an error.
Nemaha Central responded in the next half inning with another run with McKinley scoring on a wild pitch to make it 5-1. She would add two more runs in the sixth inning with a two-RBI single, and Sadie Haverkamp hit a solo home run in the seventh inning for some added insurance.
McKinley finished her afternoon going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs. Gerety went 2-for-2 with two RBI on top of her incredible performance in the circle. Caroline Nordhus and Maggie Koch also went 2-for-4 for the Thunder.
