It has been a dominant career of constant improvement so far for Doniphan West junior Elle Williams who has gotten better each year which earned her yet another ticket to the state meet at regionals last week.

Williams took second at the Class 1A Riley County regional last week, leading the Mustang girls to a regional title for the second straight season.

That came after Williams did not compete in the Twin Valley League meet where the Mustangs won the league title.

She was expected to be one of the top girl’s runners around heading into the season as last year she took fourth at the state meet after taking third at regionals and second at the TVL Meet.

It was her second straight state meet as her freshman year she took 15th place making the huge jump last season into the top five.

Williams will now look to compete for a state title on Saturday as the Mustang girls look to repeat their state title win from a year ago as the state meet is scheduled to take place at Victoria beginning at 12-noon.
