Talia Rawls

The track season is underway and now with a few competitions in the books athletes look to continue to build upon their performances thus far.

Atchison’s Talia Rawls is off to a strong start this year as she put forth a spectacular showing at Atchison’s home meet last week. Rawls sprinted past the competition to three gold medals individually winning the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes with times of 13.44, 27.96 and 1:03.51. While she partnered up with three of her teammates to compete in the 4x400 meter relay and also took first place there as the team posted a time of 4:31.35.

At the Holton Invitational earlier this season to open the track season Rawls raced to a time of 13.00 to win the 100 meter dash and posted a time of 63.93 to win the 400 meter dash. Rawls also placed fourth in the 200 meter dash.

Rawls made State last year competing at the 4A State track meet as part of the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays for Atchison.

The Atchison senior looks to continue her strong start to the track season and build up towards another opportunity to make a trip to State.
