Nemaha Central Thunder have plenty of bumps, sets and spikes go their way this season as they have worked to a 23-1 record including winning the Wamego Invitational this past weekend.
At the Wamego Invitational the Thunder went 5-0 beating Towanda-Circle, Rock Creek and Mission Valley in pool play then took down Holton in the Semifinals and topped Towanda-Circle again the Championship. Helping lead the charge for Nemaha Central has been Laura Macke and she had a strong tournament with four aces and a 98% serve along with 72 kills, 81 digs and 13 blocks.
The Thunder are riding an 18-game winning streak on the season and have won the Wamego and Nemaha Central Invite’s along with a second place performance at the Concordia Invite. Macke on the season has been helping lead the way for Nemaha Central recording 24 aces, 218 kills, 32 blocks and 217 digs.
Macke on top of being a strong athlete on the volleyball court is a great basketball player and plans on to continue her athletic career in basketball at the college level as she has committed to Kansas State.
Nemaha Central Thunder look to continue to sound off and keep rolling this season as Macke and company have their sights set on continued success to push for a run in the postseason.
