Atchison’s Jeter Purdy was named First Team All-Meadowlark Conference as the Phoenix just wrapped up their season with a third-place finish at the 4A State Tournament in Salina.
Atchison beat Rock Creek in the first round but lost to Hugoton in the semifinals. The Phoenix bounced back with a 61-50 win over Baldwin in the consolation final.
Jeter averaged nearly 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game in Salina. He averaged over 16 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals per game during the regular season.
Some of his other highlights include a 32-point game in December against Wyandotte and he scored 20-plus points in eight games during the season.
Jeter was an All-State selection during the football season, and he’s earned All-League honors in baseball in each of the last two seasons.
Jeter will continue his football and academic career at Northern Arizona.
