Clara Feighner

Doniphan West senior Clara Feighner continues to add to an already impressive softball career, recently surpassing the 500-career strikeout mark during a doubleheader against Riverside.

Feighner has been dominant in the circle throughout the season, piling up 245 strikeouts during the regular season while pushing her career total to 539 as the Mustangs prepare for regional tournament play. 

Over the last few weeks, Feighner has delivered several standout performances. In a doubleheader against Centralia, she recorded an incredible 31 combined strikeouts, then followed that performance with a 17-strikeout game against Pleasant Ridge.

While the milestone belongs to Feighner, she is quick to recognize the teammates who helped her reach it. She credits her catchers for playing a major role in her success, specifically H’Leigha Idol during her sophomore and junior seasons and Jaidyn Smith this season.
