Oskaloosa senior Hunter Miller continues to leave his mark on the Bears baseball program with another standout season on the mound and at the plate.
Last Thursday, Miller delivered one of his best performances of the year in a complete-game victory over a strong Wellsville team. The senior threw all seven innings, needing just 87 pitches while striking out seven batters, allowing only three hits, one earned run, and one walk.
Miller has been a major contributor for the Bears throughout the season. At the plate, he is batting .375 with 27 hits, including two doubles and two triples, while driving in 16 runs, scoring 24 times, and stealing 14 bases. On the mound, he owns a 1.66 ERA with a 3-3 record across seven appearances and six starts.
His impact on the Oskaloosa program goes far beyond this season’s numbers. Miller currently holds the school record for career strikeouts with 228 and is tied for both most strikeouts in a season with 96 and most career wins with 18. He is also tied for the program record for hits in a season with 41 and ranks among the top five in numerous other career and season categories, including hits, doubles, triples, runs scored, RBIs, ERA, and plate appearances.
