Drake Mellies

It’s been quite the start for Jackson Heights quarterback Drake Mellies. The Cobras are 2-0 with a pair of 42-6 wins in each of their first two games.

This past week they put it on Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Drake did everything. He threw for 176 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 67 yards and another score, returned a punt for a touchdown, and had three interceptions on defense.

In their week one win over Horton, Drake rushed for 233 yards and two scores, and added nine tackles, a sack, and a fumble recovery on defense.

Last season, Drake was named First Team All-NEKL as a defensive back and was an Honorable Mention selection during the basketball season.
