Tanner Ogden

Royal Valley Panthers wrestling as enjoyed its share of success this season on the mats and a one big part of that has been senior, Tanner Ogden who is looking to make another run to state to close out his high school wrestling career.

Tanner all season has been masterful on the mats for the Panthers, to the tune of a 31-3 record on the season and multiple tournament championships in his weight class of 152lbs. Recently the Panthers hit the mats in the Baldwin Invite and Ogden highlighted the action for the Panthers as he went perfect on the day, 4-0 on his way to a 152lbs championship, for the second time at the BIT.

Success on the mat hasn’t just come recently for the senior, its came all season for the Royal Valley Panther. Tanner started the season winning his first 12 matches of the year and is on a current seven match winning streak. To go along with the first place finish at the BIT, Ogden has registered a first place championship at the Cougars Classic earlier this year and fifth at the Bobcat Classic.

Ogden’s success has come in all fashions this season as he’s won matches via decision, major decision and pinfall to the tune of his 31 wins this season. Fifteen of those 31 wins have come via pinfall for Tanner this season.

The wins continue to compile for Tanner this season and his success has allowed him to be ranked in Class 4A by the KWCA all season; currently checking in at number four in the last set of rankings.

Third place at state in the 145lbs weight class in Class 4A was the final outcome last year as a junior for Tanner and this year with another year under his belt and jumping up a weight class he looks to be state bound again and bring home another medal, to cap of a great wrestling season thus far that will continue this season.
