Jackson Heights Cobra, Faith Little Three-Peats as NEKL Cross Country Champ

With only a few meets under her belt this year Jackson Heights Cobra junior, Faith Little defended her Northeast Kansas League cross country winning the meet for the third straight year.

Little with a time of 21:29.38 won the NEKL crown for the third time and pulled off the win nearly 39 seconds while helping the lady Cobras win the NEKL team title as their Top six runners notched Top 20 finishes.

On the year Little had competed in only three meets leading up to the NEKL meet as she placed sixth at Royal Valley Invite (22:59.36), tenth at Sabetha Invite (22:11) and 20th at Horton Invite (27:22.90).

The junior who finished 11th in Class 2A at State as a freshman and won the 800 and 1600 meter run titles as a freshman at State track is looking to earn another trip to State.

Little and the Cobras are set to compete in the Class 2A Regional meet at Riley County on Saturday, October 21st for the right to compete at State.
