Dalinghaus Stays Perfect for Lady Thunder Track and Field
Kaley Dalinghaus

Competing in track and field is just one of the athletic events that Nemaha Central junior, Kaley Dalinghaus excels at.  This spring, Dalinghaus is undefeated in both the shot put and javelin in each of the track meets the Thunder have taken part in.

Last week, Dalinghaus not only won three individual gold medals in the shot put, discus and javelin, but in the process, she set new school records in the shot put and discus.  Her points have helped the Nemaha Cental girls track team win their home Invitational last week and after a meet at Republic County, Dalinghaus looks forward to throwing the javelin and shot put at the KU Relays this weekend.

Dalinghaus qualified for state track and field last year and brought home three medals as she placed fifth in Class 3A in the shot put, sixth overall in the javelin and tenth in the state discus competition.  Kaley also got a taste of Cesna Stadium during her freshman season as she qualified in 1A State with the Baileyville B&B girls 4x400 meter relay team.

Dalinghaus has shown strength not only physically in her track and field performances, but also in her leadership and determination as an athlete.  This work ethic should lead to many more medals and accolades as Kaley looks to continue through this spring track season and return to State with goals of improving her state performances in 2016 and 2017.
