Hanover Wildcat, Will Bruna Setting Records and Leading the Wildcats
Will Bruna

First year as a starter and into the State record books, your team is unbeaten and you’ve helped lead them to one game shy of a trip back to the 8-Man Division I State title game with one more win, that is some big accomplished and the season is not over yet for Hanover Wildcat junior, Will Bruna.

The Wildcats are 11-0 and in the 8-Man DI Sub-State playoffs coming up on Friday at Burlingame and Bruna has been a key cog in the success of Hanover this season after replacing nearly every starter this season.

Hanover started the playoffs off last Tuesday with a 50-0 rout of Rural Vista in which Bruna lit up the sky with the passing attack going 19-23 for 241 yards and four touchdowns and had nine carries for 72 yards and two more touchdowns.

In the next round the Wildcats took on a fellow unbeaten team but still made it look easy behind a strong second half beating West Elk 68-46. Bruna in the contest threw for 373 yards on 27-34 with four touchdowns and ran for two more touchdowns. His 373 yards passing put him over 3,000 yards passing and set a new Kansas 8-Man record for most passing yards in a single season, breaking the previous mark of 2,837.

On the year Will has thrown for 3,010 yards on 180-235 with a 76.6% completion percentage with 51 touchdowns to only four interceptions. With one more touchdown pass he will tie the single season passing touchdown record for 8-Man in Kansas which is 52. The senior has also ran for around 500 yards with 15 rushing touchdowns, while recording over 30 tackles on defense with an interception, fumble recovery and forced fumble.

Bruna and the Hanover passing attack has dissected opposing defense as he has utilized multiple targets all season and thrown for 230+yards in 10 of the 11 games this season and 300+yards passing in four games. While throwing for at least four touchdowns in nine of 11 games this year, including an eight touchdown pass game.

The Wildcats yet again are looking to get back to the mountain top and are one win away from a trip to the 8-Man DI State game as they travel to Burlingame on Friday for Sub-State playoff action; Bruna and company look to continue to take to the air to take down their opponents on the season.
