Meagan Garrett

Sabetha Bluejay senior, Meagan Garrett has been leaping past the competition the last couple years in the high jump and nothing has been different this year as she is undefeated in the event in eight meets.

Behind a leap of 5’06 which is a new school record, which she had previously set early in the season, Garrett earned the Big Seven League high jump title last week, winning the League crown by four inches. Meagan on the year has not registered a mark lower than 5’02 in the high jump and won every single time she’s been in competition, helping lead the Sabetha track team this season.

She has also competed on the lady Bluejays 4x100 meter relay team this season and helped them claim first place at the Hiawatha Quad Big Seven competition early this season with a time of 55.87.

The senior is the two-time defending 3A State champ in the high jump posting marks of 5’04 the last two years to earn the gold in Wichita at State.

With only two meets left this season Garrett has her sights set on Regionals this Friday and earning a trip back to State to defend her State title in the high jump in 3A and soar to a new height at the State level.
