Jackson Heights Cobra, Kaitlynn Little Ran Her Way to a CC Regional Title

Jackson Heights Cobra senior, Kaitlynn Little has put together a strong senior year in her cross country career, running her way to the Class 2A Washington County Regional title over the weekend with a time of 16:45.70, winning by nearly six seconds to advance to State.

Little on the season claimed first place at her home meet to wrap up the regular season action racing to a time of 16:44, her best time of the year to win the Jackson Heights Invite. While the senior finished second place at the Royal Valley and Onaga Invite’s with times of 17:00.32 and 17:46 and also earned a silver medal at the Northeast Kansas League meet after posting a time of 17:27.78. She started the season with a seventh place finish at the Holton Invite, notching at time of 17:53.59.

After a 30th place finish at State last year in Class 2A with a time of 17:35.80, Little is primed to finish off her high school cross country career with a top notch performance at State and has progressively posted better times throughout the year. Little, who has qualified for state cross country in all four high school years, looks to post a great time on Saturday at Wamego Country Club in the Class 2A State competition to close out her Jackson Heights Cobra cross country career.
