The first quarter got on the way with a close scoring contest on both fronts, ending 15-12 in favor of the Ottawa Cyclones. The Cyclones, despite a couple of tying scores, would not let the lead change and hold it going into half 32-26. The Phoenix would nail just 11/23 to end the first half with just two threes of eight total attempted. Eric Smith III would lead with points scored at the half for the Phoenix with eleven points and one three, with Yogi Purdy behind him with six points scored, all from the first quarter.
The game would stay close heading into the fourth quarter with still no lead changes 47-38. The Cyclones would then out-score the Phoenix in the fourth quarter 16-8 to head to the final count of 63-46. The fourth quarter was the only quarter Atchison was held to single digits in the match-up. Atchison would end the game with nineteen total turnovers, having the ball stolen eleven times. Zy’Dronn Mays would get on the board for Atchison in the second half and finish with eight points scored.
The Phoenix would end the night with seven total scorers and two in double figures. The Cyclones managed to stay hot all four quarters with a final shooting percentage of 61% having hit 22/36 shots. Atchison was a bit colder, especially in the second half only shooting 7/21, finishing with 40% FG shooting on the game hitting a total of eighteen shots of forty-four attempted.
