The Riley County girls basketball team won the first ever Big East League title on Friday night winning the title outright with a 33-32 overtime win against Nemaha Central.
The Falcons are ranked #5 in Class 3A and were the only team in the league to go undefeated at 10-0.
They have won seven consecutive games and have won 13 of their last 14 games since starting the season 1-2.
The Falcons only three losses have come against Valley Heights, Clay Center, and Hesston. Hesston is the #1 ranked team in Class 3A and made the state title game last season while Clay Center is the #7 ranked team in Class 4A.
Riley County's final three games of the regular season will be against St. Marys, Rossville, and Silver Lake.
