Doniphan West had already beaten Valley Heights once this season before coming into the third-place match by a score of 51-38, but the Doniphan West Lady Mustangs managed to outdo themselves last time with an even bigger win. 

Girls Third Place Match - Doniphan West over Valley Heights 56-41

The First quarter opened up with Doniphan West leading 14-6 as Brennah Edie would really open up the scoring for Doniphan West with seven points and two threes in the first. Courtney Johnson also hit a three-point shot in the first quarter for the Mustangs. Valley Heights made zero field shots in the first quarter, as all their points would be from the line.

Valley Heights managed to step up and close the gap to just four by halftime, trailing 27-23. Lindsey Gray stepped up big for Valley Heights with five points and a three-pointer that was the first field shot made for the Mustangs in the second quarter. Anne Toerber nailing one three as well.

Doniphan West would not hold back after coming out to out-score Valley Heights 29-18 through the second half and just establishing both pressure and incredible scoring all around. Andi Foster had eight points in the second half for the Doniphan West Lady Mustangs and Belle Smith would finish with seven on the half. Doniphan West would win 56-41. 

Andi Foster led the night scoring fourteen points for Doniphan West and eight rebounds. Belle Smith finished with ten points, three steals, and eight rebounds. Katie Johnson had twelve points and seven boards while her sister Courtney ended with ten points and two threes. Ava Smith led Valley Heights with thirteen points to finish. Summary

Doniphan West now improved to 9-2 on the season while Valley Heights dropped to 7-5. Doniphan West will host Axtell on Tuesday to continue regular season league play.
