Riverside Wrestlers Win Pleasant Ridge Invite Leading Area Performances

Area wrestling squads hit the mats on Saturday at the Pleasant Ridge Invite and it was the Riverside Cyclones putting together another strong performance this season as they won another tournament crown this season. 

Led by seven individual champions the Riverside Cyclones earned first place at the Pleasant Ridge Invite. Scott Resler who ranks third in Class 3-2-1A at 145lbs was one of the seven Cyclones to earn first place on the day. At 126lbs Beau Horn claimed first, while Derek Karn took first at 132lbs, Luke Horn won the 138lbs weight class, Kinstin Juhl earned first at 152lbs, Jacob McKnight won 195lbs weight class and Jacob Smith claimed first at 285lbs for Riverside. Second place was garnered by Kaeden Juhl (182lbs) and Brayden Summers (160lbs) for Riverside on the day. 

Oskaloosa Bears were led by a trio of individual first place finishes on the day as Jared Miller (182lbs), Chris King (220lbs) and Eli King (170lbs) all grabbed first place finishes. Triston Hopkins (145lbs) earned second place, while Colby Peck (195lbs), Payton Taliefferro (113lbs) and Kaleb Frisbe (106lbs) all claimed third place. 

The host Pleasant Ridge Rams were led by the performances of Nathan Wilburn (120lbs) and Trevor Ragland (106lbs) who both earned first place finishes. Hunter Wagner (195lbs) and Luke Oatney (138lbs) each notched a second place finish for the Rams, while Rob Gwartney (170lbs) claimed a third place finish. 

A pair of first place finishes led the showing by the Maur Hill-Mount Academy wrestlers as Leif Malm (113lbs) and Benedict Humburg (160lbs) each earned first place. Both Connor Wilson (152lbs) and Ethan Seager (106lbs) posted second place finishes, while Jack Pickman (126lbs) earned a third place finish. 

Jeff West Tigers were led by two second place finishes as Taelor Barnes (170lbs) and Shane Kelley (126lbs) both claimed second place finishes. Kody Gibson (145lbs), Evan Davis (138lbs) and Montanna Grahem (132lbs) all placed third for Tigers on the day.
