GIRLS = Holton 51, Jeff West 26
The Holton girls jumped to a 14-5 first quarter lead and never looked back growing the lead to nearly 30 points in the fourth quarter after holding Jeff West to only three points in each of the second and third periods.
Tiara Dodd scored 12 points to lead a balanced attack for the Wildcats who also got 8 points from Elizabeth Schuster and 7 each from Brooke Willcott and Brooke Flewelling while Natalie Willcott and Grace Etzel each chipped in 6. Holton won for the third time in the last four games to get to 7-9 on the season and 4-6 in Big 7 play.
Jeff West had 22 turnovers with only two players scoring more than two points as Ella Dickey had 6 of her 11 in the fourth quarter and Halle Tuck finished with 8 points. The Lady Tigers, playing without three players including leader Kinley Stones, have now lost six of their last seven games to drop to 5-11 overall and 4-7 in league play.
BOYS = Holton 52, Jeff West 29
The Holton boys led 14-4 early and got a couple dunks from Tyson Snyder to build some momentum and energy before maintaining and double-digit lead throughou the night to complete the sweep in Meriden.
Snyder finished with 16 points while Parker Crouch added 12 and Ashton Schrick and Matt Lierz each chipped in 7. Holton led 20-8 after one quarter and was never treatened while improving to 10-6 overall and 8-2 in the Big 7.
Jeff West got 8 points from Conner Reich and 6 each from Gage Galle and Caleb Morse, but struggled to score all night and had 13 turnovers before falling to 6-10 on the season and 3-8 in League play.
Jeff West next plays at Sabetha while Holton finally has a home game this Friday versus Hiawatha.
