(KLZA)-- The Nebraska Coaches Association annual clinics are taking place this week in Lincoln. The events got underway Sunday evening with the annual awards banquet.
Two Falls City Sacred Heart Coaches were recognized during the evening.
Doug Goltz was honored as the Football Coach of the Year.
The Irish won the 2016 State Championship in Class D2 with a 12-1 record. It is the eighth state football title the Irish have won under Goltz. He was also honored for the 2017 State Title.
Goltz listed among his coaching highlights “consecutive years of winning a state title in football, boys basketball and boys track and field.” The Irish accomplished the feat in the 1989-90 and 1990-91 school years.
