HTRS Girls & Falls City Boys Win Falls City Track Invite

The start gun fired on Tuesday in Falls City, as the Tigers hosted the HTRS Titans and the Doniphan West Mustangs for a track triangular.

At the end of the competition it was the HTRS girls and Falls City boys coming out with the meet victories. HTRS girls posted 75 points to take first; Falls City took second with 51 points, while Doniphan West had 48 points for third. On the boys side it was Falls City notching 84 points to claiming the title, while HTRS took second with 53 points and Doniphan West posted 38 points for third.

Highlighting the day for HTRS in the girls competition was Allie Binder as she pickedup three gold medals winning the 800m, 1600m and 3200m runs with times of 2:43.27, 5:36.00 and 13:09.17, respectively. The lady Titans also brought gold in the 400m and 1600m relays, while Kendell Werts won the 300m hurdles with a time of 56.01 and Laura Stalder won the 400m dash behind a time of 1:06.94. In the field events Logan Standerford tossed her way to wins in the shot put and discus with tosses of 33'06.50 and 102'04, winning by over four and 15 feet, respectively. Bailey Kuhlmann won the pole vault for the lady Titans with a vault of 9'00. For the boys Bryant Hunzeker won the 3200m run with a time of 11:51.55 and the HTRS boys won the 1600m relay posting a time of 4:02.34. In the field events, Ben Railsback tied for first in the high jump with a leap of 5'10 and Jacob Railsback won the pole vault with vault of 10'06.

Falls City Tigers won 12 events on the day between the boys and girls competitions, with 10 coming on the boy’s side. Lee Huettner and Zach Jordening each won a pair of events for the Tigers as Huettner won the long jump (20'09.50) and triple jump (42'08.50), while Jordening won the 100m dash (11.91) and tied for first in the high jump (5'10). The team of Brett Black, Brandon Gibson, Anthony Baker and Derek Eickhoff posted a time of 9:37.10 to win the 3200m relay for Falls City. Black also won the 800m run behind a time of 2:26.02, while Baker won the 1600m run (5:28.10) and Logan Kirkendall won the 300m hurdles (47.84). In the field events, Tucker Merz won the discus with a toss of 126'01.50 and Ben Bauman tossed his way to the win in the shot put (43'05). In girls action Sydney Armbruster won the 100m hurdles with a time of 19.40 for the Tigers, while the quartet of Lainey Larsen, Lauren Bierman, Meredith Poppe and Brooklyn Romine won the 3200m relay with a time of 11:59.98.

Doniphan West was led by the performance of Kenzie Blevins won four events winning the 100m and 200m dashes with times of 13.30 and 28.38, while leaping to wins in the long jump (15'10.75) and triple jump (34'04). Calli Caudle was the only other lady Mustang to earn a gold medal at the Falls City Invite as she won the high jump with a leap of 4'09. In the boys competition the team of Tynan Bollinger, Calvin Simmons, Carson Lackey and Lane Spiker raced to win the 400m relay with a time of 47.50. Spiker also claimed gold in the 200m dash with a time of 24.45. Jonathan Clark and Kody Collins each won events winning the 400m dash and 110m hurdles with times of 58.92 and 17.60, respectively.
