Centralia Girls and Troy Boys Earn Big Wins

It was a Twin Valley League double-header between four teams with winning records on Tuesday night, but the Centralia girls and Troy boys won by double-digits to continue their recent success and momentum.  

GIRLS = Centralia 59, Troy 46
Centralia jumped to a 16-8 lead after one quarter before Troy closed the gap to 24-21 at halftime and pulled even at 26 each early in the third quarter.  With four minutes to play in the third frame, the Trojans were hit with a foul and technical which resulted in four made three throws and a quick basket to put Centralia ahead 40-30 and hold on the rest of the way for the win.  

The Lady Panthers used their size advantage to dominate the glass and had many second chance points while improving to 12-2 overall and 7-2 in the TVL.  Cassidy Haufler scored 16 points and Katie Glatczak added 12 while Amaris Jones had 9 for the Panthers, who hit 14 of 20 free throws in the game. Troy got 16 points from Breanna Smith while Blair Weishaar added 12 on four trifecta's.  

BOYS = Troy 54, Centralia 38
The Troy boys scored the final six points of the first quarter and first six of the second quarter to take a 15-4 early lead and held the visiting Panthers to just 9 points in the first half.  Centralia never got closer than 26-19 mid third quarter and Troy won their 7th straight game and second against the Panthers this season.

Reid Greaser had a season high 15 points off the bench while Collin Jasper added 14 and Nathan Gaarder and Wil Smith each chipped in 8 as the Trojans improved to 14-3 overall and 8-2 in the TVL.  Centralia was led by Joey Ferron with 10 points and Wyatt VanDorn added 8 before teh Panthers lost their fourth straight game.  After a 9-1 start, they are now 9-5 overall and 7-2 in the TVL.
