Peru State outside hitter Lindsey Nelson and libero Emily Maresh were joined by MidAmerica Nazarene setter Taryn Salum and outside hitter Molly Brewster as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Volleyball Hitter, Libero, Setter and Player of the Week, respectively, on Monday afternoon.
Nelson led the Bobcats to an unbeaten record last week that included a win in conference play. A freshman from Granite Bay, Calif., Nelson averaged 3.7 kills per set while hitting .320 as Peru State swept all three of its opponents.  Her week was highlighted by 14 kills and two blocks in a three-set win over Avila.
After the weekend, Nelson has a total of 171 kills and is averaging
2.06 kills per game.  In addition, Nelson has 27 digs, six solo blocks, and 23 block assists.
The defensive work for the Bobcats was highlighted by Maresh, who picked up her second weekly award of the season. A senior from Central City, Neb., Maresh averaged 6.6 digs per set and posted a perfect passing percentage with an average of 5.1 receptions per set. She also fired nine aces and had a pair of 20-dig matches including 25 digs against Manhattan Christian (Kan.).
Maresh has continued to climb up in the Bobcat volleyball all-time records this season.  Following play last week, Maresh was fifth in service receptions with 2,278, sixth in digs with 1,916, and sixth in service aces with 175.  For the season, Maresh is currently ranked sixth in the NAIA in total digs (508), 21st in total service aces (39), and 23rd in digs per set (5.24).
