The Peru State Bobcat football team is represented by six returning football players on the 2013 preseason small college All-American list as recognized by the USA College Football news.  The 25th annual list was released in August.

Head coaches, sports information directors, CFL and NFL agents and franchise scouts, broadcast, internet, national and regional print and magazine media, members of the football writers' association, along with the staff of USA College Football, contributed to the selection process.

Heading the list for the Bobcats in the publication is senior offensive lineman Dayton Graf (Lincoln).   Graf is a preseason second team selection.

Others earning honorable mention offense preseason honors were junior offensive lineman Tyler Ford (Lincoln) and sophomore offensive lineman Dillon Bruggeman (Lincoln).  Senior defensive lineman Zach Lempka (Sterling) and senior linebacker Curtis Larsen (Plattsmouth) earned honorable mention defense recognition.  Senior kick returner Garret Campbell (Santee, Calif.) was named to the special teams honorable mention preseason list.

All six Bobcats received honors in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) following the 2012 season.  Ford and Lempka were third team honorees while Graf, Bruggeman, Larsen, and Campbell all received honorable mention recognition.

Last Saturday, the Bobcats started their 2013 season with a convincing 56-21 win over Dakota State University in Auburn.  On Sept. 14, Peru State will travel to Winfield, Kan., to face Southwestern College in the first annual HAAC/Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) matchups.  Game time is set for 6 p.m.
