Peru State Rolls in Season Opener

(KTNC) - Peru State capitalized on eight Dakota State turnovers, as the Bulldogs rolled to a 56-21 victory in their season opening football game Saturday night at Bulldog Stadium in Auburn.
The ‘Cats defense intercepted five passes and recovered three fumbles in the game.  Peru State got out to a 56-0 lead after three quarters and cruised to the win.
Offensively, Peru State rolled up 370 yards of offense to 199 for Dakota State.  Bobcat Quarterback Tyler Audsley finished with 148 yards rushing with three touchdowns, and was 6-of-9 passing for 60 yards and another score, to Pawnee City graduate Erik Osborne.
Defensively, Alex Wessels had ten tackles for Peru State and Zach Lempka was in on eight stops, with one forced fumble and an interception.
Peru State is off this week.  The return to action on September 15 when they travel to Winfield, Kansas to face the Southwestern College Moundbuilders.
