Oskaloosa Girls and JCN Boys Win NEKL Cross Country Titles

The Oskaloosa girls and Jefferson County North boys cross country teams won Northeast Kansas League Titles on Thursday (10/13) at Jackson Heights. 

The Oskaloosa girls put together an incredible performance by placing the top four finishes. 

Emma Vogel won the individual title followed by Katelyn Vogel, Holly Thacher, and Taylor Peterson. Amelia Brown of Valley Falls finished in fifth place. 

JCN's Ivy Fujibayashi finished in sixth, Rebekah Caplinger of ACCHS finished seventh, Isabelle Black of Maur Hill-Mount Academy finished eighth, Leah Wilson of ACCHS finished ninth, and Renay Myers of Valley Falls finished 10th. 

Valley Falls finished second behind Oskaloosa, Pleasant Ridge finished third, and then MH-MA and Jackson Heights finished off the team standings. 

Haeden Forbes of ACCHS won the boys individual title. First time since 2009 that ACCHS had the individual champion. Isaac Kane and Lucas Meredith of JCN finished in second and third respectively. 

Lucas Perry of Jackson Heights and Dylan Stemmons of McLouth rounded out the top five finishes. 

Henry Cloyd of McLouth finished sixth, D Standing Soldier of Horton finished seventh, Thayer Coleman of Valley Falls finished eighth, while Coben Hoppe and Tristen Baker of Pleasant Ridge finished ninth and 10th.

Pleasant Ridge finished in second place behind JCH, followed by McLouth, ACCHS, and Jackson Heights.
