The Doniphan County Post 55 legion baseball team eliminated Seneca Post 21 from the Zone 3 Tournament on Friday night with a 10-0 win in five innings.

Doniphan County (15-15) scored in every inning except the fourth. They scored two runs in the first as Dustin Veach scored on a wild pitch while Logan Blevins provided a sac-fly.

Veach, for the second straight game, stole home and provided the lone run in the second inning. The game was nearly put away in the third as Doniphan County scored five runs on four hits.

Veach provided a two-RBI triple and that was followed by a two-run home run from Cooper Eberly as he cleared the fence in left center field. Ryder Davis provided an RBI single in the fifth inning which helped end the game via the run rule.

Luke Benitz and Dustin Veach were named the McDonald's of Hiawatha and Seneca players of the game. Benitz pitched all five innings and allowed no runs on one hit with four strikeouts while reaching base three times and scoring a run. Veach stole five more bases and has 12 stolen bases in the two games played in the tournament.

Seneca is the first of two teams eliminated from the Zone 3 Tournament as their summer ends with a record of 11-8.

Doniphan County will play Hiawatha Post 66 in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:00 PM in Seneca. The winner will earn the second and final spot in the AA State Tournament next weekend in Concordia.
