Rock Port Athlete to Run Cross Country at Peru State

The latest Peru State cross country recruit is not unfamiliar to the sport or Peru State College. Current Bobcat freshman women's basketball player, Leslie Kirkland (Rock Port, Mo.), plans to be a two-sport athlete this coming year as she will also run for the Peru State cross country team.

Kirkland, who will be a sophomore in the fall, discussed the possibilities of doing both sports with her basketball coach, Joan Albury, and head cross country coach, Katy Billings. After visiting with both, Kirkland made the decision to join the cross country team which should help her endurance for the long basketball season.
