The Axtell boys basketball team secured the Twin Valley League regular season title on Friday night after their victory against Clifton-Clyde. 

The #3 ranked team in Class 1A-II finished the season with a record of 19-1 overall with a perfect 10-0 mark in TVL play. 

The only loss for Axtell this season was against Auburn (NE) back on Dec. 30 which means they closed the rest of the season winning 17 straight games. 

It's the first time in school history that the Axtell boys won the TVL regular season title. The last regular season title for the Axtell boys was back in the 95-96 season which was the Nemaha Valley League at that point. 

Some of the Eagles playing for the basketball team have been apart of the four straight football state titles and the back-to-back state track titles as well. 

The Eagles earned the #2 overall seed in their sub-state and secured a first round bye. They will play the winner of Linn/Lost Springs-Centre on Monday, March 3rd in the semifinals.
