Four area volleyball squads hit the court on Saturday at the Jeff West Invitational the Tigers hosted Valley Falls, Royal Valley and Oskaloosa from the area for tournament action with Santa Fe Trail and Silver Lake also competing on the day.
The action was full round-robin play between the six teams and the tournament ultimately belonged to Silver Lake who posted a 5-0 record to win the Jeff West Invitational, while Santa Fe Trail notched a 4-2 mark to take second.
The host Jeff West Tigers had the best area performance at the tournament going 3-2 to finish third place. The Tigers picked up straight set wins over Oskaloosa and Royal Valley and won a thrilling three set matchup with Valley Falls, while falling to Santa Fe Trail and Silver Lake in straight sets.
Valley Falls took fourth on the day posting a 2-3 mark beating Oskaloosa and Royal Valley each in straight sets on the day. Royal Valley and Oskaloosa finished out fifth and sixth, respectively as the Panthers beat the Bears in straight sets to go 1-4, while Oskaloosa went 0-5 on the day.
