The legion baseball season continued for Sabetha Post 126 on Sunday as they compete in the Fairbury Memorial Round-Robin against the host Fairbury and Bruning/Davenport/Shickley legion squads and went 2-0.

The Sabetha Raptors took on Bruning/Davenport/Shickley and had a tight ballgame on their hand but came out on top with the 8-6 victory. Down early 5-0 after just the first inning but the Raptors offense got on the board in the fourth via an RBI single by Dustin Gruber to get Sabetha into the game. Post 126 continued to score with a four-run fifth with an RBI single by Brett Stallbaumer and two-run single by Gruber, the four-run inning tied the game at five. Sabetha took the lead with a three run sixth as Kaid Allen delivered a two-run double in the frame. Early pitching woes for the Raptors they turned to Trevor Kramer who pitched six and two-third innings of relief to earn the win and got out of bases loaded jam in the first and surrendered only one run in the game. Gruber led the Sabetha offense with a 3-4 games with three RBI's, while Allen also tallied three RBI's.

To finish off the day’s competition Sabetha Post 126 took down the host Fairbury with a continuation of solid offense on the day grabbing the win 11-7 but again had to do it by coming from behind. The Raptors found themselves down early to Fairbury 4-0 before they stepped to the plate. Sabetha cut the deficit in half with two runs in the first and took a 5-4 lead in the second by platting three runs without a hit. Post 126 used a groundout, sacrifice fly and five walks to get the lead in the second. The lead traded hands again in the sixth as Fairbury scored a pair of unearned runs on two Sabetha errors, but Sabetha answered scored five in the bottom of the sixth on seven walks and one-hit going on to earn the 11-7 win. Gruber was solid on the mound giving up seven runs but only two earned and pitched the complete game for his second win of the year.

The two wins push Sabetha to 3-1 to start the season and will open League play on Wednesday when they travel to Seneca for a League double header. (The 6:00pm game will be broadcasted on 103.9 KNZA on Wednesday, June 1st)
