Jefferson County North Leads Area Performances at McLouth Track Invite

Full McLouth Track Invitational Results (4-8-16) - Boys results & Girls results

Several teams from the Northeast Kansas League competed against each other and other schools last Friday in track and field action as McLouth hosted the action. 

The Jefferson County North Chargers paced the area performances as the boys won the McLouth Invitational and the girls took second only 14 points behind Christ Prep. On the girls side third and fourth place team finishes were earned by Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Oskaloosa, respectively, while McLouth and Horton finished sixth and eighth out of 11 schools. For the boys competition JCN took first place but only topped Oskaloosa by 14 points giving the Bears second place as a team, while Maur Hill and McLouth finished third and fourth, respectively. Horton boys placed seventh as a team out of 11 schools. 

Both JCN and Oskaloosa each had 10 event wins on the day between the boys and girls competition at the McLouth Invitational. 

Leading the Chargers on the day was six first place finishes for the boys that helped push them to the team title. JCN boys took the gold in the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays with times of 3:46.40 and 9:12.05, while Cole Bryant sprinted to a win in the 400 meter dash (53.87) and Brayden Summers paced his way to first in the 1600 meter run (4:54.01). In the field events Joel Abel took the gold in the high jump (5'10), while Braden Schneider won the shot put (40'08) for the Chargers. The lady Chargers won one track event winning the 4x100 meter relay (54.61), while Grace Kramer, Ravyn Jobbins and Elaina Tweed each won a field event. Kramer took home first in the discus (106'09), Jobbins won the javelin (123'10) and Tweed earned the gold in the shot put (39'07). 

Two golds by Dillon Grother of Oskaloosa led the Bears in action as he won the 100 meter hurdles (15.68) and the triple jump (41'03), while the Bear boys won eight events overall. Outside of Grother's 100 meter hurdles win four more of the Bears eight first place boys finishes came on the track too. Kyle Hopkins sprinted to a time of 11.43 to win the 100 meter dash, while Tommy Molder earned first in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.30 and Jordan Butler took first in the 3200 meter run behind a time of 11:10.96. The Bears 4x100 meter relay team also grabbed the gold with a time of 45.34. While in the field events Ben Harvery and Justin Cross each won field events winning the discus (122'09) and javelin (137'11), respectively. The lady Bears had Alexi Adams and Brittni Pryor each win events as Adams won the 400 meter dash (1:04.50) and Pryor won the high jump (4'06). 

Maur Hill brought home four first place finishes all in the girls competition as the lady Ravens raced to wins in the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays with times of 4:30.27 and 10:45, while Heather Ronnebaum won the 800 meter run (2:40.08) and Avery Lewman took first in the 200 meter hurdles (27.52). 

The host McLouth had one event winner in the girl's action and one in the boys competition also as Anna Moore won the girls 100 meter dash (12.93) and Dimitri Tullis won the boys long jump (19'00.75).
