Centralia Girls & Frankfort Boys Win Frankfort Arctic Track Invitational

The start gun fired and the track season was off an going for four Twin Valley League schools on Thursday as Frankfort hosted their Arctic Invitational with Centralia, Onaga and Troy competing against them. 

At the end of the day the Centralia girls and the Frankfort boys won the team titles on the day handily. The lady Panthers posted 109 total points behind eight event wins, while the Wildcat boys notched 101 total points behind eight event wins. Frankfort, Onaga and Troy finished out the girls team standings in that order, while the boys team order finished with Onaga, Centralia and Troy after Frankfort. 

The host Frankfort won the most events overall on the day between the boys and girls competitions with 13 event wins. The Wildcat boys had eight of those wins with Ryan Kraushaar having his hands in four of the first place finishes. Kraushaar posted a time of 24. 97 to win the 200 meter dash, while also notching a toss of 156'06 to win the javelin, winning that event by over 24 feet. He was also part of the Wildcats 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams that posted times of 48.09 and 4:04.48 to take the gold in each event. Ryan along with Riley Alhvers, Christian Jackson and Jase Suther won the the 4x100 and both Alhver and Kraushaar then teammed up with Rylen Bailey and Sheldon Parthemer to win the 4x400. Both Parthemer and Suther added another gold to their day as Parthemer registered a vault of 11'06 to take the gold in the pole vault and Suther posted a leap of 17'09.50 to win the long jump. Lance Ross also grabbed gold on the day for Frankfort by tossing his way to marks of 41'07 and 126'10 to win both the shot put and discus, respectively. 

For the lady Wildcats Emilee Ebert put on a show winning four events as she sprinted to first place in the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 13.13 and 28.55, while also winning the 100 meter hurdles (16.79) and leaping her way to the gold in the long jump (15'10) winning that event by nearly two feet. While the quartet of Rebecca Adams, Trinity Koch, Kaci Vaughn and Caroline Alhvers registered a time of 57.96 to win the girls 4x100 meter relay crown for Frankfort. 

Centralia was led on the day with eight first place finishes in the girl’s competition and 10 overall on the day. Sadie Jones paced her way to wins in the distance runs of 1600 and 3200 meters behind times of 6:16 and 13:27, winning the 3200 by nearly a minute. Jones then teamed up with Logan Whetzal, Maegan Koch and Mayda Stallbaumer to win the 4x800 meter relay (11:27.77) and both Stallbaumer and Koch also ran on the 4x400 meter relay team that took gold with a time of 4:46.12 as Katie Glatczak and Chelsea Huerter finished out the Panthers 4x400 team. Whetzal, Koch and Huerter all claimed golds in other events for the Panthers as Whetzal won the 800 meter run (2:54.45), while Koch took first in the 400 meter run (1:05.51) and Huerter won the pole vault (9'06). Tara Bergman also claimed a first place finish posting a toss of 112'09 to win the discus by over 13 feet. 

The Panther boys had two event winners on the day as Trenton Flentie won the 800 meter run (2:26.63) and Dylan Boeckman won the high jump (5'04). 

Onaga Buffaloes finished the first track meet of the year with nine first place finishers between the boys and girls competitions. Both Logan Marten and Garrett Ames earned multiple golds on the day for the Buffaloes. Marten registered a time of 57.60 to win the 400 meter dash, while also notching a leap of 39'08.50 to win the triple jump, while Ames swept the hurdles winning the 110 meter hurdles (17.10) and 300 meter hurdles (46.87). In the distance runs Luke Marten and Michael Eisenbarth each picked up first place finishes as Marten won the 1600 meter run (5:37) and Eisenbarth won the 3200 meter run (11:24). Both Luke Marten and Eisenbarth also partnered up with Jackson Glessner and Quinton Norris to take the gold in the 4x800 meter relay behind a time of 9:52.34. 

The lady Buffaloes had a trio of gold medal finishers as Belinda Ames, Cheyenne Brunkow and Shay Duer each won an event. Ames with a time of 55.73 won the 300 meter hurdles, while Brunkow posted a toss of 36'02 to win the shot put and Duer won the javelin with a toss of 114'04. 

The Troy Trojans had three top finishes at the Frankfort Arctic Invitational as Amanda Stock won the girls high jump (4'10), Lexi Norris won the girls triple jump (30'03) and Preston Robinson won the boys 100 meter dash (11.97).
