Riverside Hosts Track Action With Oskaloosa & Several Other Schools

Full Riverside Track Invitational Results (3-31-16) - Girls results & Boys results 

The track season is underway and the Riverside Cyclones hosted track action on Thursday with one other area team and seven other schools involved, also. 

Riverside boys notched a third place team finish on the day behind Bishop LeBlond who edged out KC East Christian for first by just one-point, while the Cylcones were only nine shy of first place. The Oskaloosa Bears grabbed fourth place as a boys team, finishing as the only other team with 100 plus points on the day in the boys competition. 

In the girls action Riverside grabbed fourth place as  team while Oskaloosa notched sixth place, as KC East Christian, Mid-Buchanan and DeKalb finished one, two and three in the team standings. 

Leading the way individually was the Riverside boys who had four first place finishes on the day and 13 Top three finishes at their home meet. Tre'nez Wilkinson was one of the Cyclones leading the way for Riverside at the first track meet of the season as he posted a time of 11.48 to win the 100 meter dash, while also taking second in the long jump. Alston Moulden and Nohl Vogel each also brought home gold medals winning the pole vault (9'00) and shot put (40'07.5), respectively while Riverside also posted the fastest time in the 4x400 meter relay, 3:53.90 to take first in that event. 

Cyclone boys 4x100 and 4x800 meter relay teams notched second place showings, while Cole Hinton raced to second in the 800 meter run and Broedy Patterson took second in the pole vault. Third place finishes were earned by Clyde Logan in the 110 meter hurdles, Dakota Moulden in the shot put, Antonio Jones in the high jump and the 4x100 meter weight throwers relay team. 

The lady Cyclones had four Top three finishes on the day at their home meet. Miranda Trump and Christon Solomon each earned a second place finish in the 110 meter hurdles and pole vault, respectively. While third place finishes were picked up by Lindsey Whitten in the pole vault and the Riverside 4x100 meter relay team. 

Oskaloosa like Riverside was led by their boys on the day with the best individual performances with Kyle Hopkins leading the charge posting four Top three finishes including winning two events. Hopkins posted the fastest times in the 200 and 400 meter dashes, 24.19 and 55.55 to take the gold in each event, while finishing third in the 100 meter dash and triple jump. Both Dillon Grother and Tommy Molder each had two Top three finishes on the day for the Bears. Grother took second in the 110 meter hurdles and third in the long jump, while Molder placed third in both the 200 and 400 meter dashes. Jusitn Cross notched a second place finsih in the javelin for Oskaloosa and Ben Harvey earned third in the discus. 

The lady Bears had three third place finishes on the day as Sierra Danford took third in the javelin, Alexi Adams nabbed a third place finish in the 400 meter dash and the Bears 4x200 meter relay team took third. 

The track season now starts to gear up for both Riverside and Oskaloosa as the Bears will host track action on Tuesday, April 5th, while the Cyclones will be at a Big Seven League Quad at hosted by Jeff West on Tuesday.
