Walker has cemented her name in Washburn Ichabod softball history as the first person to pitch a perfect game for the school since 2007. She did so in five shutout innings against Rockhurst last Sunday in a 12-0 win with a season-high nine strikeouts on just 74 pitches.
This season, the Holton alum has pitched for 75.1 innings and has a minimal ERA of 0.65 with 70 strikeouts while giving up just 59 hits, 17 walks and an opposing batting average of just .214 in 18 games pitched. Her ERA is the best on the team among pitchers with at least 15 appearances.
The Ichabods are 19-5 on the season with their MIAA conference opener coming up this Friday at UCO.
Washburn was ranked fourth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll which was released in mid-January.
