Peru State shortstop Kristen Bodyk was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Softball Player of the Week on Monday morning.

Bodyk was nearly unstoppable at the plate last week for the Bobcats, leading her team to a perfect 4-0 record.

A senior from Paris, Ontario, Canada, Bodyk hit .846 (11-for-13) with seven extra-base hits (three doubles, three home runs, one triple) while tallying 18 RBI and seven runs scored. She upped her career home run total to 11, putting her eighth on the Bobcats' all-time list.

Bodyk improved her batting average to .410 on the season, while her slugging percentage increased to .821.

Bodyk and Erin Greenwood of Baker, who was named the HAAC's Pitcher of the Week, will represent the conference in contention for the NAIA Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards, which will be announced each Tuesday through the end of the regular season.
