St. Mary's Girls Invitational

St. Marys hosted their girls wrestling invitational with plenty of local teams in the mix of the 23 teams in total. 

Teams competing were Silver Lake, Perry-Lecompton, Rossville, Maur Hill-Mount Academy, Jefferson West, St. Marys, Doniphan West, Onaga, Riley County, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Valley, and Hiawatha. 

Shawnee Mission Northwest won the tournament followed by Bonner Springs and then Manhattan. 

Silver Lake finished in fourth place, Perry-Lecompton finished in fifth place, Rossville in sixth place, Maur Hill-Mount Academy in seventh place, and Jefferson West in ninth place. 

At 100 pounds, Nora Mitchell of Rossville finished in first place defeating Kamiryn Clark of Silver Lake in the title match. Rebecca Templeton of Pleasant Ridge finished in third place while Asia Montague of Royal Valley finished in fifth place. 

At 105 pounds, Brinley Pottorf of Rossville finished in second place while Sam Hutton of Perry-Lecompton finished in third place and Andi Wegman of Onaga finished in fourth place. 

Karley Holmes of Silver Lake finished in second place at 110 pounds while Taylee Poppelreiter of St. Marys finished in fifth place. 

Clarissa Moyer of Doniphan West won the 115 pound class defeating Kylie Enriquez of Bonner Springs in the title match. Avery Stithem of Silver Lake finished in fifth place and Aryana De Leon of Riley County finished in sixth place. 

Makayla Truesdale of Riley County of Riley County and Taylor Winingham of Silver Lake finished in fifth and sixth respectively at 120 pounds. 

Emma Vice of Maur Hill-Mount Academy won the 125 pound weight class defeating Brooklynn McCormick of Bonner Springs by fall in the title match. Riley Mohler of Silver Lake finished in fourth place while Amelie Schruff of Rossville finished in sixth place. 

Skyy Hepner of Perry-Lecompton won the 130 pound weight class defeating Taylor Hurla of Shawnee Mission Northwest by fall in the title match. Kyla Manuel of Maur Hill-Mount Academy would finish in fifth place. 

Mya Vetsch of Jefferson West won the 135 pound weight class defeating Alysia Werner of Council Grove by first round pin in the title match. Natalie Peltzer of Maur Hill-Mount Academy would finish in third place while Kaylie Thorne of Perry-Lecompton would finish in sixth place. 

Taryn Taylor of Jefferson West would finish in fourth place at 140 pounds while Kyra Garcia of Silver Lake would finish in fifth place. 

Madelyn Wonnell of Rossville finished in first place at 145 pounds defeating Addison Baker of Shawnee Mission Northwest by fall in the third round in the title match. Maria Peltzer of Maur Hill-Mount Academy finished in fourth place and Macie Corcoran of Perry-Lecompton finished in sixth place. 

MaKayla Connor of Silver Lake defeated Lucy Henderson of Jefferson West by fall in the second round to win the 155 pound weight class. Maria Wingerter of St. Marys would finish in sixth place. 

Kaycee SinghDhillon of St. Marys finished in second place at 170 pounds losing to Erica Li of Manhattan by fall in the second round in the title match. 

Layla Kuhnert of Doniphan West finished in second place at 190 losing to Amelia Patterson of Bonner Springs in the title match by a 5-2 decision. Olivia Hart of Perry-Lecompton finished in fourth place. 

Emmarsyn Fordham of Onaga finished in second place at 235 falling to Aaryn Krebs of Bonner Springs in the title match. Isabella Freeman of St. Marys finished in third place, Meaa Allen of Perry-Lecompton finished in fourth place, and Hanna Myers of Royal Valley finished in fifth place.
