Xiomar Hernandez off to a fantastic sophomore season at Benedictine

For the second straight week, it's a former Atchison Phoenix football player being honored as our Blast from the Past. This time it's Benedictine running back Xiomar Hernandez. 

The 5'11 192 pound sophomore through two games for the Ravens has rushed 38 times for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also has hauled in 5 receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown. 

Hernandez is the starting running back for the 3rd ranked team in NAIA. He had 21 carries for 135 yards and a touchdown against 8th ranked Morningside in a close 35-28 loss. 

Hernandez totaled over 1,000 career yards in his prep career, scoring 8 touchdowns. He was also a defensive standout.
