The Oskaloosa girls and Pleasant Ridge boys claimed the Northeast Kansas League cross country titles on Thursday with the meet hosted by Jackson Heights.
The Oski girls domianted with the top three finishes including five inside the top 10. Katelyn Vogel won the event with a time of 21:20.02 followed by teammates Taylor Peterson and Emma Vogel in second and third respectively.
Katie Peterson finished in seventh place and Bethany Kabus finished in 10th place.
Brooklyn Schmelzle of Valley Falls finished in fourth place while Clare Trotter of Maur Hill-Mount Academy in fifth place.
Following Oskaloosa in the team standings were ACCHS, Valley Falls, Maur Hill-Mount Academy, McLouth, Pleasant Ridge, Jefferson County North, Jackson Heights, and Troy.
The Pleasant Ridge boys edged out Jefferson County North for the team title but it was Lucas Meredith of JCN taking home the individual title with a time of 17:20.39.
Hank Lance of Pleasant Ridge finished in second place followed by Eric Ashworth of Riverside, Drayton Kessler of McLouth, and Canon Duncan of Pleasant Ridge to round out the top five.
Rounding out the team standings behind P-Ridge and JCN was Jackson Heights, Horton, Maur Hill-Mount Academy, ACCHS, and Oskaloosa.
