KSHSAA Approves Changes

The KSHSAA Board of Directors approved Wednesday to allow high school basketball teams to play 23 games during the regular season beginning in the 2025-2026 season. 

The number was at 20, not counting postseason play, and now it will be up to 23 games. 

Other items passed by the Board of Directors include for tennis, baseball/softball, and wrestling. 

Tennis athletes will now be permitted to participate in one outside competition during the school season. 

For baseball/softball, students may now participate in 32 total games during the regular season. Each varsity squad may schedule 26 games and sub-varsity may schedule 20. 

For wrestling, girls and boys events may now participate in no more than four events that begin before 3:00 PM for each gender.
