The Holton girls wrestling team captured the team title at the Silver Lake Invitational on Saturday, their final matches before Regionals. The Lady MatCats scored 195 total points, which was 10 more than Wellsville of 30 teams competing. Holton had 12 girls place in the top six of the 15 weight classes.
Wildcats were led by a pair of individual champs in Piper Robinson and Marley Gilliland. Second place finishers included Sadey Gross, Taryn Anderson and Raegan Watkins, while Lexie Larson and Christian Kucan and Lorna Smith medaled in fourth place.
Jeff West was the next highest team placer in 10th followed by Marysville and ACCHS. Payge Vetsch led the Lady Tigers with an individual championship in her weight class while Taryn Taylor placed third and Kinley Shelman medaled fourth for Jeff West. The top performance from ACCHS was a third place finish for Hannah Simmers.
Holly Thacher of Oskaloosa who went 3-1 to place second in her 115 pound bracket. Nemaha Central was 18th in the team standings led by Autumn Feldkamp who placed fourth as did Morgan Allen for Onaga.

The local girls 4-1A Regional Wrestling is slated for Saturday, February 10th in Sabetha.
