Updated Brackets for State Football Playoffs Ahead of the Regional Round

The State football playoffs are through the first round with Regional's up next this week. 

4A

(5-4) St. James Academy at (9-0) Atchison 

- Atchison dispatched Fort Scott in the first round 48-12 while St. James Academy got past Basehor-Linwood 35-6. 

3A

(7-2) Bishop Ward at (8-1) Holton

- The Wildcats had no problem against Santa Fe Trail as they won big 49-16. Bishop Ward beat Perry Lecompton 32-6. 

2A

(3-6) Riley County at (7-2) Sabetha

- The Bluejays were able to rebound after the regular season finale loss to Nemaha Central to beat ACCHS in the playoff opener 35-6. Riley County posted an upset over Silver Lake by winning 23-21. 

(5-4) Rossville at (9-0) Nemaha Central 

- The Thunder had another game where they went over 70+ points as they beat Pleasant Ridge 74-6. Rossville, the defending state champs, cruised past Minneapolis 57-6. 

1A

(8-1) Troy at (7-2) St. Marys 

- St. Marys used a big second half to get by Jackson Heights 46-14. Troy used a big first half to get past Mission Valley 59-14. 

(6-3) Jefferson County North at (9-0) Centralia 

- The Chargers used a balanced attack to take down Riverside 64-22. Centralia had no problem with McLouth winning 48-8. 

8M-II 

(4-5) Frankfort at (7-2) Lebo - @ 6:00 PM 

- Frankfort pulled the upset win as they went on the road and beat St. Johns-Tipton 48-28. Lebo picked up a big win over Rural Vista 58-0. 

(5-4) Hanover at (9-0) Canton Galva 

- The Wildcats dominated Lakeside-Downs and won 62-14 to advance while Canton Galva shutout St. Paul 60-0. 

(4-5) Central Christian at (9-0) Axtell - @ 6:00 PM 

- Central Christian beatdown Marmaton Valley 52-6 while the defending champs in Axtell beat Pike Valley 68-8. 

6M 

(6-3) Burrton at (7-2) Wetmore - 6:00 PM 

- Burrton was able to get by Southern Coffey County 73-24. Wetmore got a bye and didn't play in the first round.
