We have updated high school football rankings ahead of the final week of the regular season on Friday night from both KSHSAA Covered and K-Preps

Axtell (7-0) remains the team to beat in 8M-II. The Eagles won their 20th straight game on Friday night against Frankfort and are looking prime for a repeat State Title. They're ranked #1 in both rankings this week as they'll close out the regular season at Doniphan West.

Centralia (7-0) is the new #1 in both rankings this week as the Panthers are the lone undefeated team left in Class 1A. The Panthers won a District Title in their win over Riverside on Friday night where they got a 76-yard touchdown with 15 seconds left to win 26-20. They will close out the regular season on Friday night against Pleasant Ridge.

Troy (6-1) is up to #3 in the KSHSAA Covered rankings while they're ranked #5 in K-Preps in 1A. Since their lone loss to Centralia, the Trojans have won three straight by an average of 37 points per game. Troy will host Riverside on Friday night.

Nemaha Central (7-0) and Sabetha (6-1) still hold strong in the 2A rankings this week. The Thunder remain #1 in the KSHSAA Covered rankings and #2 in the K-Preps rankings behind only Southeast of Saline. Nemaha Central have outscored their opponents 387-74 this season.

The Bluejays are #4 in K-Preps and #5 in the KSHSAA Covered rankings. They are coming off a dominant 62-7 win over Horton on Friday night. Sabetha's defense is doing its job as they are allowing just nine points per game.

Nemaha Central and Sabetha will meet on Friday night to close out the regular season in Seneca with a Big 7 and District Title on the line.

The Holton Wildcats (6-1) are now the clear cut #2 ranked team in both rankings this week behind Andale in Class 3A after a big time 37-13 win over previously unbeaten and #2 Hayden on Friday. Holton rushed for over 470 yards in the game and won the District Title. They will close out the regular season on Friday at Jefferson West.
