Legion Baseball: Sabetha Raptors Split Doubleheader with Doniphan County

The Sabetha Raptors Legion baseball team earned a split on Thursday night at home against Doniphan County. 

Sabetha (3-1) was able to win game one 6-1 but Doniphan County (7-1) bounced back with an 8-1 victory in game two. 

Christian McAfee was our McDonald's Player of the Game for his performance for Sabetha in the game one victory. McAfee pitched five shutout innings allowing just two hits with five strikeouts. 

He also added an RBI triple in the three run first inning for the Raptors. 

Sabetha would add one more in the second inning and two more runs in the fourth. 

Doniphan County picked up their lone run in the seventh inning with Ryder Davis driving in the run. Davis went 2 for 3 to lead the Doniphan County offense. 

Marcus Bauman, Chase Frey, Darrin Funk, and Noah Krol each had multi hit games for Sabetha. 

Doniphan County would rebound with an 8-1 victory in game two to earn the split on the road. 

Preston Christenson pitched a five inning no-hitter while racking up 10 strikeouts in the game. He also walked three times at the plate. 

Alex Libel drove in two while Gavin Fuemmeler and Broc Studer each had multi hit games.
