Nemaha Central Track Sweeps Big 7 Quad

The Nemaha Central Track and Field teams swept their home Big 7 Quad on Thursday. 

The Thunder girls finished with a team score of 141.50 which was more than 80 points than Jefferson West who finished in second place. 

The Thunder girls swept a good portion of the events with first place finishes. Julie Rottinghaus won the 200 meters, triple jump, and was part of the 4x100 meter relay team that took first. They also finished first in the 4x400 meter relay. 

Hailey Nordhus won the 400 and 800 meters. Maddy Mosteller took first in the 1600 meter run while Cali Honeyman won both the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles. 

Makenna Sloop won the high jump while Mckynsey Henry won the long hump. Cami Dalinghaus won both the shot put and discus and Kylee Sperfslage won the javelin. 

Jefferson West finished in second place and got some first place finishes. Jacenda Schnacker won the 3200 meter run, Olivia Scott won the pole vault, and they also won the 4x800 meter relay. 

Hiawatha got a first place finish from Dani Morton in the 100 meter dash. 

The Thunder boys finished with a team score of 114 which was 38 points more than second place Hiawatha. 

Nemaha Central and Hiawatha dominated the first place finishes. The Thunder got a first place finish from John Langill in the 3200 meter run. Dylan Lortscher won both the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles. Dylan also got first place in both the high jump and long jump. 

Mo Hilbert won the pole vault, Carter Rottinghaus won the triple jump, Connor Deters won both the shot put and discus while Joshua Gonzalez won the javelin. 

Hiawatha also had a strong showing as Connor Kettler won both the 100 and 200 meter dash. Riley Gibbs won the 400 meter run while David Keo won the 800 meter run. 

Felix McCartney won the 1600 meter run and was also part of the 4x800 meter relay team that took first place. 

Jeff West took home the 4x400 meter relay.
