Kansas State Volleyball Brackets Released

Seven area teams over the weekend continued their volleyball seasons by winning their respective sub-states and earning spots at the State tournament in their respective classifications.

The State brackets have been released and the area teams have learned what seed they will be at State and who they will play in pool play come Friday, November 1st.

In Class 1A at the Division II level the B&B Falcons who look to three-peat as champions in their final year of existence are the number one seed with their 37-3 record. The Falcons will hit the court at Gross Memorial Coliseum on the campus of Fort Hays State University at 3:30pm to start their run at repeating as back-to-back-to-back state champs, as they will play the eight seed Ingalls (18-18). Falcons other two pool play games are slated for 5:30pm versus five seed Dighton (27-12) and 8:30pm versus Beloit-St. John's/Tipton.

Class 1A-Division I level the Centralia Panthers notched the number three seed with their 34-5 record on the season. The Panthers and 1A-Division I level will get the volleyball action underway in Hays, Kansas at Gross Memorial Coliseum playing the morning session. Centralia will first hit the court at 9:30am playing against the six seed Waverly (30-8). Panthers other two pool play matches will be against seven seed, Pike Valley (25-12) at 11:30am and versus the number two seed, Hoxie (35-3) at 1:30pm.

Class 2A this year will have Jefferson County North Chargers hitting the court in Emporia again this season at White Auditorium. The Chargers who are a top three team in the rankings across the State are the five seed at the State tournament with their 34-8 record on the season. JCN will open pool play with a matchup against the four seed Mission Valley (32-7) at 4:30pm. Chargers other two pool play competitions will come against the number one seed, Hillsboro (38-1) at 5:30pm and the number eight seed, Meade (18-18) at 7:30pm.

Class 3A will see a pair of area teams competing at the State tournament as Nemaha Valley and Marysville both qualified for State by winning their respective sub-states. The Raiders of Nemaha Valley will look for their eighth 3A state volleyball title but will have to do so as the eight seed with their 21-16 record. Raiders will help get the action underway in Emporia at White Auditorium as 3A is the morning session before 2A. Nemaha Valley kicks off their pool play at 8:30am against the number one seed Jayhawk-Linn (35-4), while they will also play at 11:30am versus four seed Hoisington (32-7) and five seed, Cheney (32-7) at 12:30pm.

Marysville will be in the other pool in 3A as they will be the six seed with their record of 31-12 on the season. Bulldogs will play their first match at 9:30am against three seed, Silver Lake (33-6), while playing two seed Southeast of Saline (34-4) at 10:30am and seven seed, Douglass (24-12) at 12:30pm.

Class 4A-Division II touts a pair of area teams from the Big Seven league as Santa Fe Trail and Jeff West each qualified for the state tournament. Both teams will be in the same pool in Salina as the 4A competition will be played at the Bicentennial Center. Santa Fe Trail will be the number three seed with their 35-4 record, while; Jeff West will be the seven seed with their 24-14 record. Jeff West gets the pool play going play two seed, Trinity Academy (36-4) at 3:30pm, while playing Santa Fe Trail at 6:30pm and the six seed, Clay Center (25-14) at 7:30pm. The Chargers start pool play at 4:30pm against Clay Center and then match versus Jeff West and final match at 8:30pm against Trinity Academy.

Seven area teams will start their quest for a State title on Friday as the teams look to close out the volleyball season by going out on top.

in Salina at Bicentennial Center starts 3:30pm on Friday, Nov. 1st
